We, the family of Mary Elizabeth (Lily) McGuigan, wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to all who sympathised and supported us during our recent bereavement. Your kindness has been a source of comfort during this challenging time.

Expressions of Gratitude

Thank you to everyone who sent sympathy cards, Mass cards, and letters of support. Your messages of condolence, shared online, have meant so much to us. Each note and message has reminded us of the love and community surrounding Lily.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Father Michael McCaul C.C. for his compassionate presence. He welcomed Lily’s remains into the Church with dignity. Additionally, we are thankful for the way he celebrated Lily’s beautiful requiem mass the following morning. His guidance provided solace during our time of grief.

Acknowledging Contributions

We are grateful to the sacristans of St. Patrick’s Church Keenaught. Their assistance was invaluable. Special thanks go to Anthony McBride for the beautiful singing and music that enriched the service. We also appreciate the Lay ministers, readers, and gift bearers who contributed to the ceremony. Furthermore, we thank Steven Noonan of Carn Media for recording the Funeral Mass, ensuring that we have lasting memories of this significant occasion.

Thanks are also due to those who prepared the grave. Their efforts ensured that Lily’s final resting place was treated with the utmost respect.

Medical and Spiritual Care

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Lily’s GP, as well as the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department of the Royal Victoria Hospital. Their dedication and care in Ward 6B were invaluable. We also appreciate the RVH Chaplain for his spiritual support during this time. Additionally, we thank Father Hickland P.P. for his spiritual visits to Lily in her apartment.

We are particularly thankful for the dedicated staff of Adelaide Care Home. Their compassionate care for Lily in her final months provided her with comfort and dignity.

Community Support

We extend our gratitude to St. Martin’s GAC for allowing us to use their hall in Longfield. The space was a comforting gathering place for family and friends. We also thank Apparo Restaurant for providing refreshments after the funeral. Their generosity helped ease the burden during a difficult time.

Special Thanks to J. A. Gormley Funeral Directors

Finally, we would like to give special thanks to J. A. Gormley Funeral Directors in Maghera & Coleraine. Their guidance and the caring, dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements were a source of great comfort. Their professionalism and compassion ensured that every detail was handled with respect.

It is impossible to individually thank everyone whose support has helped us through these very difficult days. Please accept this acknowledgment as our sincere appreciation for your kindness.

Lily’s Month’s Mind Mass will be held on Saturday, 31st January, in St. Patrick’s Church, Keenaught, at 7:30 pm. We invite all who knew and loved Lily to join us in remembering her life and legacy.
