We, the family of Gerard O’Neill, wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and sympathy shown to us during our recent bereavement. Gerard was a greatly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, and his loss is deeply felt by us all.

We extend our sincere thanks to Fr. Graham for his spiritual support and guidance. We are deeply grateful to Una McGill for the beautiful music that honoured and celebrated a life so dearly loved. Sincere thanks to Paul and Arlene McGarvey for their assistance with the wake arrangements. We also extend our appreciation to the Bradley sisters for their support and for providing refreshments at the wake.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who provided food, sent Mass or sympathy cards, messages, and flowers, and to those who offered practical help and kindness in so many thoughtful ways. A special word of thanks to all who cared for Gerard and supported our family during his final weeks.

We would also like to express our deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of Altnagelvin Hospital, the Marie Curie nurses and the District Nursing team for the exceptional care, compassion and attention shown to Gerard.

Our sincere thanks to J. A. Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera & Coleraine, for the caring and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements. To those who prepared Gerard’s final resting place; and to Lavey GAC for their help during the wake and for providing refreshments after the funeral.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.

Gerard will be sorely missed — a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will remain forever in our hearts.

Gerard’s Month’s Mind Mass was celebrated on Thursday 26th February 2026 at 7pm in St. Mary’s Church, Lavey.
