Acknowledgement from the family of the late James (Jimmy) Rankin
The family of the late James (Jimmy) Rankin wish to express our sincere thanks to all who supported us in our recent bereavement.
We are deeply grateful to our relatives, friends, neighbours, colleagues and the wider community for their kindness and compassion. Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, sent Mass and sympathy cards, telephoned, called at our home, sent messages of condolence, and remembered Jimmy in their thoughts and prayers. Your support brought great comfort to us during a difficult time.
Heartfelt thanks to all who cared for Jimmy: the staff at Causeway Hospital, Garden Street Surgery Magherafelt, Ann’s Care, and Anniscliffe Nursing Home.
A special word of thanks to Fr Doherty and Fr O’ Doherty for their spiritual support and to Fr Doherty for celebrating a beautiful Requiem Mass. We also thank the sacristan, readers, Eucharistic ministers and all who participated in the funeral liturgy. Thank you also to the grave diggers who prepared Jimmy’s final resting place.
We wish to thank the singer Hannah Ferguson and musician Aileen Mc Court for the beautiful music during the Mass.
We would also like to thank those who helped with stewarding during the wake. Thanks also to the Traffic branch who assisted with the road closure during his final journey.
Our sincere appreciation to everyone who assisted during the wake, provided refreshments, left donations of food, helped behind the scenes, and offered support in so many ways. Thank you also to the Staff of the Oakleaf who provided refreshments after the funeral.
We are especially grateful to J.A. Gormley Funeral Directors for their professionalism, compassion and guidance throughout the funeral arrangements.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
Jimmy's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen, on Friday 2nd October at 7.30pm.
May Jimmy rest in eternal peace.
