Acknowledgement from the family of the late John Heaney

We, the family of the late John Heaney, wish to extend our deep and sincere gratitude to all those who sympathized with us on the sad loss of a much-loved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.

Thank you to all who attended the wake, requiem mass, watched online, brought mass cards, and posted such lovely tributes to Daddy on social media.

A special thank you to those who stood by our side during Daddy’s final days; your love and support brought great strength and comfort. We will forever be indebted to your kindness.

Thank you to our good friends and neighbours who brought gifts to our home, and to Kieran Bradley and the staff of Walsh’s Hotel for the lovely refreshments following the funeral.

To Ann’s Home Care team and the private carers who looked after Daddy with such dignity and compassion, thank you.

To the doctors and nurses of Maghera Medical Centre, thank you for your care of Daddy over these past two years. To nurse Gabby Dougan who attended Daddy in his final days, Dalriada Urgent Care and to the Marie Curie nurses, thank you. We would also like to thank Vincent Harkin and the staff of Harkin’s Pharmacy for all your advice, no question was left unanswered.

Our heartfelt thanks to Fr. Paddy and Fr. Kieran for your unwavering spiritual guidance throughout Daddy’s illness. Daddy gained such solace and comfort from your visits.

Thank you to all who participated during Daddy’s funeral. Thank you to the grave diggers, and to Niamh McGlinchey, whose beautiful music added such reverence to the mass.

Finally, thank you to J.A. Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera and Coleraine, to Michael and Nicholas for your professionalism and compassion, we are truly grateful.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement serves as a token of our sincere gratitude to you all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

John’s Month's Mind Mass took place on Friday 31st May at 7:30pm in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen. Mass was viewed via: st-patricks-church-maghera - MCN
