Mary and the entire family of the late Hugh McGuckin, would like to express our deep appreciation to all those who sympathised with us and supported us through our recent bereavement. Heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours, family and extended family for their kindness throughout the wake and funeral. We are hugely grateful to all those who called at the family home during the wake, brought Mass cards and sympathy cards, shared messages of compassion on all platforms, brought food, helped with catering and traffic arrangements.
We greatly appreciate all those who attended the Requiem Mass as well as those who followed the live stream and gathered along the route to the church. Your presence brought great comfort to the family.
We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses in Causeway Hospital, Coleraine who attended to Daddy in his final days, for their exceptional care and support.
The family would like to thank all the priests who attended to Daddy’s spiritual needs during his brief illness. Special thanks to Fr McGirr and Fr Madden for their spiritual support during the wake and to Fr McGirr for the beautiful Requiem Mass. Thanks also to Fr McGuigan and Fr McCann for concelebrating the Requiem Mass and to Fr Paddy Doherty and Fr Victor Donnelly for offering Masses for the happy repose of his soul.
The family are deeply indebted to all the family and friends who provided the beautiful and touching music for the Requiem Mass, and to those who took part in the liturgy and gifts.
Huge gratitude also to the Church Sacristan, Eucharistic Ministers, altar server, Devlin Media, stewards and gravediggers, as well as those who supplied and erected the marquee and lighting. Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks also to Spar, Moneymore who provided the food for the funeral dinner and to St. Martin’s GAC for the use of the hall and to the volunteers who served the food after the funeral.
Special thanks to J A Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera and Coleraine for their professional, compassionate and dignified manner in the way they conducted the funeral arrangements and supported the family throughout the days of the wake and funeral.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all with our sincere and heartfelt thanks.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions.
