Updated: Feb 28

The family of the late Niall Regan, 17 Hall Street, Maghera, would like to sincerely thank all relatives, friends and neighbours who offered sympathies and support after his death on 31st January 2020.

Niall’s wife Geraldine and family deeply appreciate the kindness of all who visited their home, attended his Requiem Mass or sent messages, letters, cards, flowers or gifts of food at their time of loss.

The Regan family wish to acknowledge Father Patrick Doherty PP for attending so closely to Niall in his final days and particularly thank Fr Doherty and Fr Peter Madden PP for con-celebrating his Requiem Mass at St Patrick’s Church, Glen. Deepest thanks also to Cecilia Agnew and Joe Diamond for the beautiful music.

Niall’s family are grateful for the expert and caring support provided by J A Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera. Thanks to the staff and pupils of St Columba’s Primary, Straw, for the guard of honour and thanks also to the Oakleaf Restaurant for refreshments after the burial.

Niall was supported by a large number of health professionals during his long illness. The Regan family are indebted to the wonderful One-to-One team for their long-term care. Sincere thanks also to the doctors, district nurses and staff from Maghera Health Centre and staff at Antrim Area Hospital.

Niall’s family would especially like to acknowledge the warm welcome he received every summer during his illness at the Lake House Nursing Home in Portnablagh, Co Donegal. They treasure how this allowed him to spend time close to his beloved Dunfanaghy.

Niall’s Month’s Mind was celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Glen, on Friday 28th February.
