Acknowledgement from the family of the late Mairead Mulholland

The family of the late Mairead Mulholland (nee O’Connell) wishes to express sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with us during our bereavement.

Thank you to our relatives, friends and lovely neighbours in Lavey parish & beyond, for your words of comfort and support and for your presence at the wake and funeral. We took great comfort from your mass cards, messages of sympathy, kind words and tributes in online posts and from all the letters capturing fond memories.

We thank those who provided refreshments including LJ's Tavern Magherafelt, Lavey GAC and to everyone who helped in any way.

To the staff of the Royal Hospital Belfast for the care provided, and for the quiet, respectful dignity shown to Mairead and her family in her final days and hours.

A special thanks to Mairead’s brother Fr Seamus O’Connell, her cousin Fr Cathal McKenna, to Fr Liam Donnelly, Fr Ciaran O’Doherty and Fr Graham for celebrating the beautiful Requiem and Month’s Mind masses. Thank you to the church sacristans and to St Mary’s Church Lavey for sharing the Requiem Mass online for all those unable to attend in person. And thank you to those who prepared the grave in the lovely restful corner of the old graveyard.

Sincere appreciation to our cousins Joanne Reagan, Bridgeen McNicholl and Damien McNicholl, and to our friends Clare McNicholl and Anthony McBride who provided the beautiful singing and music.

Finally, sincere thanks to Mickey and Nicholas Gormley of J A Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera and Coleraine for the professional and sensitive manner in which they carried out the funeral and other arrangements.

It is impossible to individually thank everyone whose kindness and sympathy brought us such comfort at the time of Mairead’s death, and so we hope this acknowledgement conveys our heartfelt thanks.
