Acknowledgement from the family of the late Joseph (Joe) Heaney.
Updated: Jan 22
The family of the late Joseph Heaney (R.I.P.) wish to sincerely thank all of those who have shown sympathy during the sad loss of Joe. We realise these are strange times and it is difficult for our community not to be able to pay their respects in the traditional manner. However, we were always aware of the thoughts and prayers for daddy at the time of his death and in the period since. That kindness and support has been a great source of comfort.
We thank our relatives, neighbours, friends, and community who supported us in many ways over the time of his death. We thank everyone who telephoned, sent texts or online messages, sent sympathy cards, lined the funeral cortege route, and joined us in the chapel via the internet.
Special thanks are given to Fr. Doherty and Fr. O’Doherty for their spiritual support and celebration of requiem Mass. We would also like to thank Niamh Mc Glinchey for her beautiful music throughout the service and to all that helped during the funeral mass.
A special thank you also to Mickey Gormley and the staff from J.A Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera for the support and the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.
We trust this acknowledgment will be taken by everyone as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all the kindness and support we received as a family.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Joe was celebrated on Friday 22 January at 7:30pm in St Patrick’s Church, Glen, Maghera.
