Acknowledgement from the family of the late Francis Lagan R.I.P.
Updated: Jan 7
Wife Louise, children Rose, Alice, Beth, Frank, Father Brian and family of the late Francis Lagan R.I.P. wish to express our thanks for the support extended to us following the death of a devoted and much loved husband, daddy, son, brother, friend and school principal.
We wish to thank each person who called at our home, telephoned, sent cards, floral tributes, posted messages on social media, sent gifts and offered prayers. To the family, friends and neighbours who worked tirelessly throughout Francis’ wake, we thank you sincerely.
Acute thanks to the Emergency Services who attended Francis and his family on the evening of the 26th November 2021. Your diligence, professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten.
We thank Fr. Paddy Doherty, Fr. Kieran O’Doherty and our many priest friends who concelebrated at Francis’ beautiful Requiem Mass. We also wish to thank Niamh McGlinchey for her remarkable musical contribution and Sally McKeown for making ready the Church. We very much appreciate the work of John McKee and his skilled team who prepared Francis’ final resting place.
The family were overwhelmed by the vast numbers of people who lined the route of the cortège, formed guards of honour, attended the Requiem Mass, gathered outside the Church, travelled long distances to be with us or joined via the Church Webcam. It was profusely emotive to see and feel the high esteem in which Francis was held. Thank you sincerely to everyone who attended.
Our appreciation is also extended to J.A. Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera for their dignified and professional funeral arrangements. We wish to thank Watty Graham’s GAC and members of our local community who stewarded the cortège seamlessly and offered great support to our family.
We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as it would be impossible to express our appreciation individually. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Francis Patrick Lagan was celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen on Friday 7th January 2022. Attendance was restricted in line with Covid-19 guidelines, the Mass was streamed live on the Church webcam: https://mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-maghera
