Acknowledgement from the family of the late Colm Higgins R.I.P.

Updated: Sep 25

We the family of the late Colm Higgins R.I.P. wish to express our heartfelt thanks for all the support given to us following the loss of our much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and father-in-law.

Our sincere gratitude to Dr Mc Neill, the community nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists for their medical support and care during his illness. Thank you also to Harkin’s Chemist staff in Maghera for their support during this time. We would also like to thank all the carers from Extra Care who looked after Colm with such dignity and kindness over the last few months

.

Thank you to Father Paddy Doherty and Father Kieran O’Doherty for celebrating the funeral mass and also to Father Peter Madden for his attendance. Special thanks to Father Doherty who provided comfort and assistance during our time of loss and for his regular visits to the family home to provide prayer and spiritual support.

We also wish to thank Hannah Ferguson for the beautiful music during the funeral mass. Thanks also to the sacristan for preparing the chapel.

We want to thank Michael, Nicholas and John of J.A. Gormley Funeral Directors, Maghera for the professional, compassionate and dignified manner in which they carried out all the funeral arrangements. Thanks also to the gravediggers at St Patrick’s Church in Glen.

A very special thanks to Erin’s Own Lavey GAC for the guard of honour at the chapel. A huge thank you to those who lined the funeral route from the family home to the chapel and to those who gathered outside Glen Chapel, attended the funeral mass and to those who watched on webcam. We took great comfort in seeing so many people support us.

Thanks to those who sent mass and sympathy cards and those who expressed sympathy on social media. Since it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgment will be accepted by you all as a token of our sincere heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.

Colm’s Month Mind Mass took place on Friday 24th September in St Patrick’s Church, Glen at 7.30pm. It was streamed live on the church webcam: https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-patricks-church-maghera
