Acknowledgement from the family of the late Bishop Francis Lagan.
Updated: Jul 13
Bishop Francis’ brother Brian, sisters Mary (Cassidy) and Tillie (Mc Vey) along with Bishop Mc Keown, Priests of the Diocese and the extended family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who sympathised with them. The many cards, letters and phone calls were kind and warmly received. Special thanks to the expert staff who cared for Bishop Francis at Altnagelvin Hospital. We would like to thank Bishop Mc Keown, Fr. Boland and all who prepared the Immaculate Conception Church, Strabane and participated in the beautiful Requiem Mass.
The family were overwhelmed by the many people who took time to line the cortège route as Bishop Francis made his way to St. Patrick’s Church, Glen for burial; we thank you sincerely. A special thanks to Fr. Doherty, Fr. O’Doherty, Thomas Quigley & Sons Funeral Directors, J.A. Gormley Funeral Directors Maghera and Maghera Memorials for their dignified and professional funeral arrangements.
We wish to thank Watty Graham’s G.A.C. and members of our local community who stewarded the cortège seamlessly.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions. We hope this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as it would be impossible to thank everyone individually.
The Month’s Mind Mass for Bishop Francis Lagan was celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Glen on Friday 10th July.
